A Quiet Space for Creative Return
Welcome to Little French Residency. A space for quiet reflection, and creative return. Founded over twelve years ago by Tamsin Jardinier, Little French Retreat began as a sanctuary of holistic wellness, a place for seasonal retreats rooted in rest, replenishment and re-imagining. Now, the next chapter unfolds…
Little French Residency
Is the natural next chapter: a place for creative return. A space for writers, artists, potters to come home to their work.
This is not a retreat in the traditional sense. There is no fixed programme. No pressure to perform. Only time, space and quiet and the invitation to listen closely.
The Power of Silence
Set in an old French country house surrounded by orchards and forest, the residency offers a quiet that supports creativity.
It’s the kind of stillness that helps you hear yourself more clearly and make space for ideas to gently return and grow.
Daily Rhythm & Morning Yoga
Each morning, an optional class is offered to support clarity, steadiness, and presence. Through gentle movement, breath, and relaxation, the practice helps clear the mind and calm the nervous system. You're welcome to join as often as you like, or simply follow your own rhythm.
Nourishment, Your Way
Food has always been at the heart of Little French Retreat life. During your residency, seasonal meals are prepared with care, organic, and to suit individual needs.
You’re welcome to eat at your own rhythm, quietly on your own, or gathered around the table with others. Either way, meals are there to ground you, fuel your work, and offer simple pleasure throughout the day.
Spaciousness to Create
The residency hosts just two guests at a time, offering a deeply personal and spacious experience. Whether you're beginning a book, returning to your art, or simply seeking clarity for what comes next, this is a space to move slowly and create without distraction.
What Makes Little French Residency Unique?
It’s not a typical creative residency
No pressure to produce. No final presentation. Your creative wellbeing is considered. It blends inner and outer work
With optional yoga, coaching, and Ayurvedic meals, the space supports your whole self, not just your output. It’s a lived-in, seasonal home
This is no sterile studio. It’s a lived-in French country house where fires are lit in winter, figs are picked in summer, and the pace invites something different. It’s for women at a threshold
Whether you're starting something new, finishing something old, or simply in transition, this is a pause with purpose, between what was and what could be.
