Yoga and Walking Meditation

Nectarine Blossom Orchards of Montesquieu

A weekend of movement and meditation that deepens our sense of breath in connection to our body and gently creates space to let go, allowing the wildlife and all natural elements to reveal something new within, reconnecting us to simple pleasures and our true essence.

Each morning, we walk in silence and explore the various tracks of Montesquieu, meandering past blossoming fruit orchards and through medieval villages along the way.

Afternoon's are spent on the mat discovering the health benefits of Sivananda Yoga. Developing our practice over the weekend to provide an understanding of how we can maintain a simple daily commitment to keep mind and body in balance.

With hearty wholesome food, time to read, reflect or take a healing massage, this restful break will reset you on your course, realign your sense of wellbeing and inner purpose within the easy going ambiance that is Little French Retreat.

Tamsin Chubb Yoga

__________
YOGA
Tamsin teaches traditional yoga based on a combination of styles; Sivananda Yoga,  a series of postures with variations that are specifically designed to work on all physical and psychic centres of the body, provide complete flexion of the spine and balance the endocrine, nervous and parasympathetic systems – And Yin Yoga, that works to restore fascia (connective tissue) through holding postures for longer and has a deeply meditative affect to calm the mind. Her class begins with the practice of pranayama and meditation leading into a gentle flowing asana practice, resulting in feeling restored and relaxed.

The practice of yoga opens, clarifies, removes energy blocks and helps one to connect to the essence of their true nature – happiness. With long term commitment to the practice you can appreciate the ability to control the mind and transform ones life beyond the mat, beyond reactive emotions to a more gentle, peaceful approach to all that you do, with positive intentions that help guide you.

She has practiced varying styles of yoga and in 2012 took her 200 hours teaching course with Sivananda in the Himalayas, completing her 500 hour certificate in Southern India.

WHAT OTHERS SAY

"She is particularly good at explaining why we do certain things in yoga. We practised a form of Sivananda yoga, which was a relatively new style for me. We were given information about its origins in an accessible and light way, and over five practice sessions developed a pranayama practice that it is possible to take home and practise with ease"
- Danielle Hipkins, Queen of Retreats. Full review can be read here
