Join Tamsin for a magical trip to Southern India, the spiritual home of yoga.
This is Tamsin's third year leading a retreat at this exclusive beachside retreat set on Varkala’s South Cliff, surrounded by coconut trees and mango groves.
The ten days are designed to recharge your batteries and rejuvenate your mind, body and heart with the combination of Yoga, Ayurveda & Group Coaching.
Classical Hatha Yoga teachings include authentic pranayama, asana and meditation that will help bring strength, purify and release tension and stress. The Ayurvedic treatments will unlock emotional blocks and help improve particular health issues. The group coaching The Coaching provides clarity and focus for lifes question to support you on your onwards journey.
The retreat is open to all. If you are new to yoga, the retreat will give you a strong foundation, or if you are looking to deepen your practice, you will benefit from focused attention to develop your strengths and weaknesses. We practice twice daily yoga classes on the roof top studio overlooking views of coconut groves and the Indian Ocean as backdrop. Surrounded by the call of sea eagles, temple chants and rhythm of the waves as our soundtrack.
Tamsin Chubb founded Little French Retreat in South West France in 2013. She teaches yoga based on Sivananda and Yin Yoga styles. Strong and deeply restorative with an emphasis on mind body connection through breath work.
Her class begins with the practice of pranayama and meditation leading into a gentle flowing asana practice. A series of postures with variations that are specifically designed to work on all physical and psychic centres of the body, provide complete flexion of the spine and balance the endocrine, nervous and parasympathetic systems.
She completed her 500 hour Sivananda RYT certificate in Southern India under the guidance of Swami Govindananda, Swami Tattvarupananda and Mani Raman at Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham. She holds a diploma in counselling skills, is a trained flow host in open circle work and has a passion for cooking and photography. She runs retreats and workshops helping people relax, deepen their sense of inner peace and understand how to heal the body and mind with yoga, diet and nature.
Ayurveda is the ancient Hindu art of medicine originating from South India that prolongs life naturally. A complementary practice of Yoga that provides guidelines based on your body type, to approach food as medicine and environmental factors as a supportive structure for natural healing. On this retreat you will receive a personalised ayurvedic consultation to establish the best treatments for you during your stay. With two massages included in the trip, you can continue with treatments at the hotel spa – costs for these are extra.
Tamsin has trained as a counsellor and is one of a handful of facilitators of a modality of coaching called the Flow Game. A practice based on the ancient teachings of the South American Medicine Wheel, which looks at the key aspects of life; learning, earning and sharing. This is a powerful tool to bring clarity and strength to life's questions often having a profound effect that helps support you on your onward journey.
Blooming Bay Hotel is set on the Cliff tops of Varkala's South Beach, with far reaching views of the Arabian Sea, surrounding coconut groves and fishing village. A little distance from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions, providing a authentic and tranquil

WHAT OTHERS SAY
“Tamsin, thank you from the bottom of my heart for an amazing experience that brought together three of my favourite things; yoga, travel, and time to relax with Mark. To be able to let go and allow all the little details to be taken care of was enormously relaxing. Everything we could have asked for was already considered and catered to: onsite Ayurvedic massage, rooftop yoga set at an even pace, delicious healthy food (I hardly realised I was on a cleansing diet,) clean spacious rooms that opened to a stunning view of the Arabian Sea, genuinely friendly staff, daily outings that felt less touristy and more like we were visiting your own favourite haunts- the Chai and Indian donut at the canal side cafe have no equal! In addition, we spent the time in great company. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone on the trip, so many interesting people from all different walks of life. I don't think it would have been possible to have a better vacation. To add to this you have a unique and special talent, the way you flawlessly put this trip together and wove in all these different personalities, giving each of us what we needed even if we didn't know it at the time. You are inspiring. ” – Kathy, USA
