The space to come home to
Home for the duration of your retreat is a cosy country house in the historic village of Montesquieu, in southwest France.
The atmosphere in the house is homely and welcoming, and guests are encouraged to make full use of it. With a maximum of six guests and meals served en famille, it’s a warm and convivial experience.
Retreats follow a simple, unhurried daily flow, inspired by Ashram life in India, where teachers and students live and study together. In the spirit of this, we share rooms, help with small daily duties and contribute to our collective experience of the retreat. The small group size creates an easy intimacy and guests frequently forge meaningful friendships on retreats.
We have three double guest rooms, each with an en suite bathroom, plus a separate teacher’s room. Rooms have been thoughtfully decorated in soothing tones and equipped with high quality mattresses, complimentary toiletries and pure cotton linens to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
Free time is yours to do as you please, whether you want to borrow a book from the library and cozy up by the wood-burning stove in the living room, find a private spot in the garden to soak up the views, or relax on the shady veranda. We have bikes you can use and can point you in the direction of some lovely walks and cycling routes alongside nearby rivers and canals.
We share our space with our rescue hounds, Lucien and Edie, and two cats Suri and Billie Jean. We think our disarming love hustlers add a little extra warmth to the retreat experience, yet we are mindful of others and so they are not allowed in guest rooms and the yoga area for those that may have allergies.
